Can You Do It?

If I have lost confidence in myself, I have the universe against me. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

Can you do it is not really the question, the true question should be: Will you do it? Continue reading

Faith and Trust

Place your trust in government and follow the path of civilizations lost or place your faith in the people and reach beyond the stars. – GP McClure

This last week I had an interesting thought, one that the more I think about the more I feel it to be true. It has been said that all civilizations reach a zenith and then fall. I have heard it said that the United States has reached its zenith and must now pay for its sins. Sins? What sins? Upon which the liberal elites release a barrage of items, all disparaging the United States. Perhaps slavery is the biggest of these “sins.” Continue reading

Learning, Believing, Implementing

I do not prize the word cheap. It is not a badge of honor … it is a symbol of despair. Cheap prices make for cheap goods; cheap goods make for cheap men; and cheap men make for a cheap country! — President William McKinley

This is the first blog of 2012 and I felt it fitting to begin with something along the lines of finance. This is a term we will be dealing with all through 2012 so we better begin to understand it now. Continue reading

Rich or Poor, Freedom or Slavery, Your Choice

You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand. — Woodrow Wilson

The question becomes: why is it evil to be rich? It also becomes: why is it evil to want to be rich? Continue reading

My Cause, My Results

Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I can’t remember a Christmas that has been as hard as this one. It seems like my entire state of affairs is going down in flames. Money is extremely tight, we have been hit with expenses we didn’t expect, and I haven’t even purchased one Christmas gift yet. And I probably won’t. Continue reading

Angry

How often it is that the angry man rages denial of what his inner self is telling him. — Frank Herbert

I have often heard it spoke, just recently in fact “I’m angry with God! God has permitted so many bad things to happen in my life, why? Is there even a God?” Continue reading

The Act of Nothingness

Life is full of obstacle illusions. — Grant Frazier

Words for this article seems to escape me this time, for some reason I can’t concentrate on what I want to say. Oh I have plenty to say, about a lot of topics, but this time… this time I feel out of touch for some reason. Maybe as I write something will come to me. Continue reading

Challenges

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. — Martin Luther King, Jr.

Sometimes life kicks you so hard you wonder if your teeth are going to stay in your head. Events transpire which shake your very soul and you wonder how you will ever make it through the day. Somehow you do but the stress inflicted upon your body is so intense it can and often does manifest itself in some type of physical ailment. For me stress hits my stomach and the pain is so intense I feel like I just want to die, literally. Continue reading
