Angry

How often it is that the angry man rages denial of what his inner self is telling him. — Frank Herbert

I have often heard it spoke, just recently in fact “I’m angry with God! God has permitted so many bad things to happen in my life, why? Is there even a God?” Continue reading

The Act of Nothingness

Life is full of obstacle illusions. — Grant Frazier

Words for this article seems to escape me this time, for some reason I can’t concentrate on what I want to say. Oh I have plenty to say, about a lot of topics, but this time… this time I feel out of touch for some reason. Maybe as I write something will come to me. Continue reading

Challenges

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. — Martin Luther King, Jr.

Sometimes life kicks you so hard you wonder if your teeth are going to stay in your head. Events transpire which shake your very soul and you wonder how you will ever make it through the day. Somehow you do but the stress inflicted upon your body is so intense it can and often does manifest itself in some type of physical ailment. For me stress hits my stomach and the pain is so intense I feel like I just want to die, literally. Continue reading

The Art of Quitting

Before success comes in any man’s life, he’s sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. That’s exactly what the majority of men do. – Napoleon Hill

I call quitting an art, because I am a master at it. All my life, in everything I have done, I have only given half-measure in the attempt. In very rare cases did I ever finish what I started meaning that most times I simply said the heck with it and abandoned the project. Continue reading

An Undesirable Direction

As I grow older, I pay less attention to what people say. I just watch what they do. — Andrew Carnegie

We are being manipulated. The sad fact is we allow it because we don’t have enough respect for ourselves to stop it. We allow ourselves to be told what we can eat, how we must live, what cars we are allowed to drive, where we can send our kids to school and where we can’t, what they can study and what they can’t study (and the parents be damned), where we can pray and when (if ever), shoot we can’t even fly the American flag without getting evicted, or the threat of, from our homes. Of course this is only a short list of the restrictions placed upon us by those who know how to live our lives better than us. Continue reading

The Canyon of Faith

It’s lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, and I believe in myself. — Muhammad Ali

There comes a time in everyone’s life when he or she must make a decision, a major earth shaking decision. Sometimes an event happens more than once, sometimes only once, but it will happen and when it does each individual must respond in some manner. Continue reading

Life and Thoughts

The man who has no problems is out of the game. — Elbert Hubbard

I looked at my blog and came to realize that a month has gone by since I updated it. You see I had a little problem; life got in the way and had to be taken care of first. Continue reading

Dream, then Dream Some More

I thank God for my handicaps, for through them, I have found myself, my work and my God. — Helen Keller

Dreams are dangerous things. Dangerous to those who seek power and dominance over others that is. As free individuals we can dream big, marvelous dreams and if we work smart we can make those dreams become reality. This freedom, the freedom to dream, build and create is what scares socialist, tyrants, and dictators to death. And the reason is simple: the human flesh can be killed but an idea, a dream can never die. And it is the power of the dream that makes America exceptional. Continue reading

‘Tis healthy to be sick sometimes. — Henry David Thoreau
