This weekend marks America’s birthday, the birth of the greatest nation on the face of the planet.
So what makes us so great? I want to spend a few lines answering that question because the final answer is so simple the left-wing loonie birds will never understand it. But you will.
What makes this country great? Could it be our people? Nope. We as a people are no better, no worse than the rest of the world. We eat, we sleep, we laugh, we cry, we feel pain, we feel happiness, in all respects we are exactly, as a human species the same as the world.
What makes this country great? Could it be our landscape, our natural resources? Nope. We have roughly the same environment as the rest of the world. We have mountains, deserts, lakes, valleys, wildlife, seasons, so as far as our environment goes we are basically on the same playing field.
What makes this country great? We’ve already answered the human and environment questions so what else is left? Why do people want to come to this country, leaving the land they were born in? What is the magnet?
The simple answer is freedom. We were founded on a document, a document paid for with the blood of our ancestors. A document which declares this nation belongs to the people, not one individual, one dictator, one tyrant, but the people, and only the people.
Our document, beginning with the Declaration of Independence, which gave birth to this nation, was fed and nourished by the Constitution, allowing us to grow and prosper. These documents, and only these documents is the reason we exist.
Our Founding Fathers gave us a precious gift, but it is a gift we can easily lose if the politicians of today have their way.
Freedom is never free and the greatest power these documents give us is the power of the vote. It is a power which can protect or destroy depending upon how it is used.
So I guess the real question is: What do you want, freedom or tyranny?
The answer you choose will be based upon the way you vote.
