Life and Thoughts

The man who has no problems is out of the game. — Elbert Hubbard

I looked at my blog and came to realize that a month has gone by since I updated it. You see I had a little problem; life got in the way and had to be taken care of first.

I could use the excuse I had nothing to write about but alas that would not be true as many thoughts swirled in my mind like a whirlwind traveling across a dry prairie. So many thoughts I lost track of them which provides me with another challenge: what to write about first.

Over the last month I have been… what’s the word I want… inconvenienced by life, specifically physical issues. It’s a phenomenon of what happens when one gets older. Still it got me to thinking about life and how we approach it.

Many of us take this element called life for granted. We think we will live forever only to discover later in life that this will never be the case. Contrary to science fiction stories, man dies and there is nothing he can do about it. Life may be prolonged, but it will end because everything, at some point, dies. The question becomes what to do with the time we have while we are alive because after we turn to dust, who knows what the next dimension will be like.

So how do we handle life? Do we make our lives count for something, or do we turn ourselves into fools by wasting the limited time we have?

I look at the protest now in full swing in New York, the Occupy movement it is called. Funny, looks a lot like the 60’s to me. I remember the protest of that era and the only thing that has changed is the faces and I’m not even sure about that.

The people then are now the ones which run the government now, their thinking hasn’t changed nor has their hatred of America. They are too old to protest today so these “leaders” use the weak-minded to do what they dare not do – find fault with America and do everything they can to destroy it.

As humans we refuse, and I use the word refuse heavily, to improve ourselves. We live far below our potential, we let others decide how we are to live, who to hate, who to love, when to eat, when to sleep, and what clothes to wear. We let others tell us how to raise our children; we let others control our future and our very lives.

Who are these others? The protester of the 60’s of course, the leaders we currently have in the halls of power today. As a people we allow these criminals to lead us to our own destruction, and we do so willingly. Is this not so?

Instead of encouraging people to be their best our politicians demand we become their slaves, New York proves that. Our leaders tell us to protest, we protest. We don’t have a clue why we protest, but we do as we are told, at least many of us do. Yet there are many exceptions, and I’m proud to say I am one. Why do I want to destroy my own country? What will it gain me if I cut down and destroy the very land that gave me birth and life? Why do I want to destroy freedom?

This current movement will die but the one thing that will never die: the desire for freedom. This is a strong desire which starts with one thought: How do I improve myself today?

It is along that line of thinking, self-improvement, which has actually changed my own thinking and a realignment of my own goals. If you have been following my website (www.gpmcc.com) you know it is in the process of being modified into more of a “niche” site. I admit I was using generalities before which wasn’t getting me anywhere. So while I was down and not physically able to use a keyboard for very long during the day, I re-evaluated my situation and realized I too needed to change. I needed to let go of what was not working and focus on a new tactic. In short I changed lanes, which I believe will lead me to my goals.

The protestors believe they are making a difference too, but the reality is they are only making themselves look like complete losers and morons. They are being used by external forces to keep the current ruling class in power. It won’t work. Lives are being affected every day by policies alien to our way of life. It is socialism verses capitalism and I have news for the ruling class, socialism will fail.

We are not a country to give into a “give me” mentality. We never have been and never will be. As long as people like me believe in self-reliance socialism will fail. And believe me there are a lot of people who believe in self-reliance, hard work, and the American dream. You may even be one of them. As long as we exist freedom exists and socialism fails.

Everything possible to destroy America is being done but the instigators are finding resistance to their cause. That is why this blog exists, and why my webpage lives, to make a socialist life miserable. And I intend to do just that, make their life miserable by holding them accountable for their actions.

We are a great and wonderful nation, but some of us tend to forget that little fact. So the only thing I can say is:

Long live freedom and the American dream.
