Learning, Believing, Implementing

I do not prize the word cheap. It is not a badge of honor … it is a symbol of despair. Cheap prices make for cheap goods; cheap goods make for cheap men; and cheap men make for a cheap country! — President William McKinley

This is the first blog of 2012 and I felt it fitting to begin with something along the lines of finance. This is a term we will be dealing with all through 2012 so we better begin to understand it now.

Currently we have a 15 trillion dollar national debt. This number is so huge that no one on this planet can phantom, much less comprehend it. So it becomes just a number to us, yet the reality is it becomes a slave master, an entity which will control our lives until the day we die, and beyond. Because this number will not give up its hold on us for many, many generations our great-great grandchildren will be suffering this debt of servitude long after we have turned to dust. And their question to us shall be: Why did you do this to us? What did we do to deserve this?

And the answer shall be – there is no answer because all of the politicians who created this nightmare for our future generations shall be long buried. So how is this fair to our future? It is a question that deserves an answer.

Three short years ago we didn’t have this crushing debt but our “esteemed and benevolent” leadership has seen fit to bestow their blessing of consistent spending upon us all. This reminds me of the movie “Brewster’s Millions” where Montgomery Brewster had to spend a million dollars a day for 30 days and have absolutely nothing to show for it, no assets at all. This was of course to get his real inheritance of 300 million dollars.

Unlike the movie our current crop of elected leaders are spending about seven (7) MILLION dollars a MINUTE! Brewster would be envious. At government spending rates he could spend his entire 30 million in just under four and a half (4.5) minutes! But like Brewster we have nothing to show for our spending, no assets at all. So where is the money?

It has been said that politicians are spending money like drunken sailors but I must disagree with that analogy. Being a former sailor myself I understand how drunken sailors think, and there is absolutely no way a drunken sailor can spend 15 trillion dollars! But a drunken politician can. A politician drunk with power and greed has no boundaries, no discipline, and no remorse. Drunken politicians lust for the need to spend money we do not have, and will never have, and they do it in the name of “compassion.”

McKinley is correct when he spoke of cheap men for that is who currently dominates the halls of power today, cheap men and women. Unlike the politicians of yesteryear who at least had some discipline and thought of nation, our current crop of politicians have no such discipline. Today’s philosophy is spend, spend, and spend some more. And then to pay for it all, tax, tax, and more tax. To tax us all until we have nothing. But even then we can never pay this horrible debt that has been bestowed upon all just so our political elites can “feel” good about themselves.

Thus it is up to us, the individual American to realize, to “learn” what is actually happening in the halls of Washington today. We do this by opening our mind to the fact that our “trusted” leadership cannot be trusted at all. They play the game of politics and the chips they use are our future, our children’s future, and our freedom. It is hard to believe that elected men and women, people we want to trust has lied to us and betrayed us, all for their own egos. They call it “compassion” and if you disagree with their version than you are evil and rotten to the core. You are even a member of the KKK, just because you disagree with their spending habits.

There are many ways to learn what Washington is doing these days, the internet being the best way. I say the internet because the Benedict Arnold’s (formerly known as the main stream media) will never tell you the truth. In fact these entities are just as guilty as the politicians who commit the crimes of spending us into oblivion. It is very obvious that the Benedict Arnold’s (formerly known as the main stream media) has surrendered their first amendment responsibilities, and duties, for their vision of a socialist utopia. A society where being free and successful is evil and being a tyrant or dictator is both blessed and honorable. So believeth the main stream media.

I hear many say: “I am only one person; there is nothing I can do to change anything.”

In Change Your Beliefs, Change Your Life, Dr. Nick Hall shows you how to recognize the impact your beliefs have on your life. The important thing is to know where any given belief comes from and understand how and why you internalized it – especially if it’s a belief you want to change. You also need to recognize those beliefs you’ve been suppressing or ignoring – beliefs that have become habits or beliefs that are preventing you from getting the most out of your life.

To which I reply: Bunk. You are an individual and you are an American, you have the power to implement change but only if you have the desire to do so. It is not easy to change the course we find ourselves on, but it is not impossible either. What you have to do is believe in yourself. You have to believe that you are a valuable commodity, to your family, to your friends, and to Divine Providence. However to the current crop of elected politicians you are nothing more than a money pit to be used and then discarded like an old paint can. But you are so much more than you are being told you are.

About half of this country has come to believe that only the “sympathetic” government can make their life better. So while they believe this they continue to live in filth and misery, while their elected politician continues to deceive them by promising them that the land of milk and honey is coming. So I ask these people: where’s the land of milk and honey you were promised? And why do you keep voting the same politician into office year after year? After all isn’t this promise at least 25 years old?

Each individual can choose the path they wish to follow. For half the country the path is doom, gloom and despair. For the other half the path is individual freedom, hope, responsibility, life, happiness, and wealth. So the question must be asked: why choose doom and gloom? The answer is simple: because it’s easy, fast, and requires no commitment or thinking on their part. Two ingredients that are, not only essential, but required for freedom and individual responsibility: commitment and thinking.

Individual responsibility is difficult, frustrating, infuriating, and requires a lot of work. But the rewards are fantastic. However the current crop of elected politicians cannot allow individual accountability because it destroys the socialist fabric of government. Hence we have a senator attempting to destroy the first amendment (free speech), Homeland Security enhancing the role of TSA (the police state), and Congress as a whole destroying and/or controlling the internet. With all of this being done in the names of compassion, equality, safety, and anti-piracy. But the end result of all these efforts will be enslavement and dictatorship. It means the end of America, the former land of the free and now the home of the wimps.

You have to believe in yourself, in your abilities and in your power to change things. Then you have to establish a plan and implement your plan. What kind of plan? A plan of individual responsibility, a plan of self-empowerment, a plan of faith, a plan of being better than you think you are, a plan of hope, a plan of becoming rich, or at the very least financially well off.

Then you must act. You must become a better person. You must take steps to enhance your life. You must engage in learning, to open your mind. You must believe in yourself and your abilities. You must have faith in both Divine Providence and yourself. You must be willing to pay the price for self-improvement. Losers will never pay this price; hence they will always be losers and part of the 50 percent who votes for slavery.

But there is one key item you must engage in, you must learn how to vote intelligently. Voting just to vote is a wasted effort and the primary reason we are in this mess. You must learn, believe and implement your vote wisely. Because it is the only way we will stay off the rocks of self-destruction.
