Cable vs Satellite

I have an issue with my cable company – IT’S TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE!

Oh that feels much better. Anyway I have been thinking about moving over to satellite. Now there are only two major satellite companies to consider and I looked at them both.

First things first: Technology

I know that the technology of satellite is good. Excellent in fact. Hence the argument between cable and satellite technology is actually mute because there is no real difference between the two technologies. Both are reliable in every aspect of the word. So in my research I have found that overall the technology is matched evenly.

So if the difference isn’t technology what is it?

Life Events

Life often has a way of kicking you in the teeth when you least expect it. Such has been the year of 2014 for us. The death of our daughter Ana has had an effect that often leaves us wondering about many things. But not only us others have experienced horrors beyond belief, horrors that are politically driven. But more of that in my main blog.

Changes

A lot of things are happening and happening fast in my life these days. Sometimes it is difficult to keep up with all that is happening.

Currently I’m in the middle of making major format changes to the main website and that takes a lot of time. Then I am facing other inconveniences which take time to correct. Nothing I can’t handle but I do have to prioritize my list of things to do.

Getting it Together

Sometimes it feels like I am losing it. But I’m not. A lot of things are happening in my personal life. Nothing earth shaking mind you, but enough to be of some minor concern. What will happen, I don’t know but I must prepare for anything.

How about that new Obamacare? Now that it is here I have a feeling all hell is about to break loose. Too bad, this was once a nice country. It was a good country but after the politicians get through with it, who knows what it will be.

I have been reading a book called “Pushing to the Front” by Orison Swett Marden.  It was written about 1910 or 11 and it is just as powerful today as it was then. Those old books, deemed out of date and time now are just the opposite – they convey a message so powerful that to ignore them is hazardous to your financial health and well being. Try it on for size, you may be surprised.

Luck and Dreams

Here are some thoughts about luck:

  • Luck is nothing more than perseverance.
  • He who is lucky works their ass off!
  • Persistence is the sacrifice the universe demands if success is to be realized.

Here is a simple thought about Dreams:

The power of a dream can move mountains and change the course of mighty rivers. Dreams can build man up or tear him down. It can create great wealth or destroy nations. The power of a dream is neutral, but not so the individual who yields it.

Havoc

The heat plays havoc with the old body and that makes working a somewhat irritating issue. It’s hard to concentrate when the heat is sapping the strength out of your body making the old brain cells sluggish and non-responsive.

But then I think about our troops located in the desert of the middle east. And I’m complaining about a little heat? Not cool on my part. Our men and women have it much, much worse.

The main issue is the havoc they encounter can be life and death. So, yeah I gotta a little heat, but I don’t have a bullet pointed at me. At least not these days.

Time Off

There comes a time when everyone needs time off, a vacation if you will. However sometimes life won’t allow such a luxury. And with today’s economic environment it is extremely hard to justify the cost of taking a vacation. And I sure don’t want to stay in the house.

It irritates me that today’s political environment forces one into a little box of the political making. Freedom is lost, slavery begins. Slavery for the masses. Too bad people believe more in government handouts than freedom and the Constitution.

Tired

I will be glad to get back to work tomorrow and get a break. These honey-do projects can really take it out of you. But they are done. To be honest I should have taken care of this last year but other issues got in the way. And the fact I didn’t want to trim the blasted tree. BUT IT IS DONE AND OVER WITH!

Lesson? At some point things have to get done, and some of those things can be down right painful. Better to get them over with earlier rather than later.

Anyone got any aspirin?
